This invitation-only conference will give an update of the latest science on climate change, and an overview of the latest policy developments. Then, as its name suggests, it will move into an examination of three frameworks for mitigation/adaptation, and how these relate to issues of Reduced Deforestation, carbon markets and the public policy framework needed to drive investment.

It takes place simultaneously with the IPCC's final "Fourth Assessment Report" meeting in Valencia, Spain and three weeks before the latest round of UNFCCC negotiations in Bali, Indonesia.

The conference will not seek to arrive at consensus; rather it seeks to clarify issues and options and 'road-test' various frameworks for the mitigation of- and adaptation to- anthropogenic climate change.

The conference moderator is Isabel Hilton, of China Dialogue and Radio 3's Nightwaves

This event is being organised in conjunction with the Tyndall Centre Manchester.
